About Me

CV

Beginning Spring 2026, I will be a postdoc at the Instituto de Matemáticas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City.

I completed my PhD in mathematics at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Previously, I completed an MA at the University of Oklahoma, an MS at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS, and a BS at Evangel University in Springfield, MO.

I also worked as a geodetic engineer for a commercial satellite imagery company for 10 years.

Music

In my spare time, I enjoy creating noise using synthesizers and electric guitars. You can hear some of my recordings at bandcamp.

I also enjoy seeking out new and interesting music. You can see what I’ve been listening to recently at listenbrainz.

Pronunciation

My surname is of Germanic origin and is pronounced like the word buyer in English.
